Benefits of Contract Phones

One positive of having a contract is that a free phone is given when the contract is signed up to. This can save a lot of money, as most decent and modern mobile phones cost around the hundred pound mark. A contract pays for the handset, as it is presumed that the amount paid every month will cover its cost.
Although it is easy to run up a bill when using a contract phone, it is unlikely that this bill will ever get so extortionately high that it is too much to pay. The reason for this is the credit limit that comes as standard with most service providers. This credit limit means that if the contract mobile is lost or stolen, there is only a certain amount of money that can be spent on it before the service is suspended. This suspension will last until they bill payer has paid off the excess, so that the bill is below the credit limit once more, however there is room to appeal against the bill if the theft or loss has been reported. An example where this service has been successful is with Virgin -a credit limit is set, and a text is received when this limit has been reached.
Possibly the most important aspect of a contract phone is that it will always be available in an emergency, unlike pay as you go phones, which are useless once their credit has run out. It is not always possible, of course, to get to a shop in order to top up a phone with money, and this is why contract phones are much more practical. This, essentially, is why most people have them: because sometimes it may be urgent to get in contact, and contract phones are the safest way to guarantee that this will be possible.

The majority of people using Mobile phones in the world today -an estimated eight hundred million- have these phones tied to contracts with service providers. Mobile phone contracts are easy to use and set up: first the customer must decide how many minutes and texts they are likely to use in a month, and then a service provider, or their own research, will tell them which contract will give them the most value for money.
