Keep the flaps of the tent closed to avoid entry of flies, bugs & animals. Make sure to keep the areas clean & free of food stuff thrown around as it would be an unwanted invitation for animals to come, this is a must on family holidays as it will upset any younger members of the party to have a tent full of unwanted .
In a camp it is advisable to follow a buddy system. A buddy system is one where no individual goes out alone anywhere within or outside the camp. He or she must be accompanied by a friend or a relative at all times, especially for camps in locations where there are not very effective means of communication.
Remember to keep a pair of rubber slippers or flip-flops as camping grounds can be wet & marshy & don't forget to keep a torch.
Other stuff which is a must for one to carry includes beach towels, beach ball, stoves, ice boxes, tissue papers, soap, detergents, disposable plates & glasses, cutlery, life jackets, paper bags, first aid kits, sunscreen, scissors, ice box, a pair of tongs & a fishing rod/net if you plan to go fishing.
One must check if the water available at the camp site is safe & pure, in case it is contaminated carry mineral water for cooking, brushing & cleaning purposes.
Last but not the least, for a well planned & organised camping holiday, make sure to carry a map of the area where you are going to camp & a magnetic compass. This helps you to explore the place well & even go around visiting surrounding areas comfortably. It is also very helpful if one has to go trekking or for long walks into the forest areas. Walkie talkies can be carried along too, so that one remains well connected all the time while having adventure.
