Remember when people used to get a job with a company while they were in their twenties and then twenty-five or thirty years later, they retired from that same company? They usually departed with a pension and gold watch. That employee was loyal to the company; and likewise, the company was loyal to their employees. Times have drastically changed.

People no longer trust big corporations to take “care” of them. Surveys have shown that corporate executives, lawyers, and entertainment celebrities are the least trusted groups in America.

The mammoth companies that once captured our respect and our awe now have a glaring black eye! Note these recent bankruptcies in the world of big business:

· Lyondell Chemical Company 01/09
· Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. 9/08
· Washington Mutual, Inc. 9/08
· IndyMac Bancorp, Inc. 7/08

It is because of this that many people are looking to start their own business. Some are looking at traditional brick and mortar businesses. There will never cease to be a need for shops, stores, boutiques and restaurants. Additionally, there are numbers of extremely lucrative franchises to be had.

On the other hand, there are business opportunities in abundance on the Internet. Ways to earn money through online businesses have never been more plentiful. Most of them take minimal investment; and of course it means working from home. Not everything in the field of Internet marketing comes with a big price tag. Contrary to much of the hype, there are ways to earn on the net with little to no outlay.

Compare that to a typical franchise which may require capital of 20k and up just to open the doors. Add to that the fact that profit may not be seen for three to five years.

Starting a business on the internet means you have instant customers and ready cash flow. Your online money-making business can never be considered local. The planet is your marketplace.

Consider these recent statistics:

· As of June 2008, the indexable web contains at least 63 billion pages.

· Over 100.1 million websites operated as of March 2008. Of these 74% were commercial or other sites operating in the .com generic top-level domain.

There has never been a better time to find your place in Internet Marketing – this is where the people are! The World Wide Web is a massive arena and if you are looking for opportunities to make a living online, they can be found. Earn money and work from home. It’s a great combination!
