Scrapbooking can be one of the top 5 favorite pasttimes in America. Compared to photo albums, scrapbooks typically contain more than only pics but also a ton of personal history. Making cover pages for every theme is a great idea. The cover pages do not have to be too complicate. A simple caption and few designs will do. Aim on creating the main pages interesting. It would be better if all your pages follow the same format.

3. Select which scrapbook to use.
There is a lot of scrapbooks available in bookstores and specialty stores. They come in all shapes, colors, sizes, and materials and most of them are surprisingly affordable. If you wish, you can create your own easily. Simply bind color paper with a ribbon or string. Leave it up to your imagination.

4. Prepare your materials.
Scrapbooking shops and bookstores carry scrapbook materials.
You may use anything to spice up your pages. Popular ideas include using buttons, glitter, ribbons, stamps, and so on.

5. Words are useful.
Words are powerful tools, even on scrapbooks. Interesting captions give life to your photos and capture the mood and atmosphere of a certain memory. Your descriptions need not be lengthy and formal. Casual writing will do. You could use colorful pens or markers. The important is let your personality as a “journalist” shine through. Describe not only your photos but your mementos, such as invitations, tickets, and so on, as well.

6. Use print.
If you are not too confident about your own handwriting, type out your captions using a word processor. Utilizing a home computer, you may want to print various designs on page borders or sticker sheets on your papers.

7. Crop and mat your pictures.
Cropping only entails cutting out irrelevant aspects of photographs to make them more attractive or make them fit your scrapbook template. You might want to use scrapbooking scissors to complete this in order to separate them into more exciting shapes. Matting, however, helps your pictures last longer.
