You’re probably wondering what this is all about. Let’s just get down to the nitty-gritty of snoring and talk about the reasons it happens:
Weakness of the throat muscles (Throat becomes smaller)
Jaw comes out of alignment due to stress/tension in muscles
Obesity that leaves a lot of fat around the throat area
vNasal passage obstruction like sleep apnea
Tissue in the airways touching and vibrating
Alcohol or drugs relaxing throat muscles
Sleeping on your back, which causes the tongue to go closer to the throat
If you’re someone that is overweight than that is probably the reason that you snore. It is your double chin that is putting a lot of pressure on the throat area as you sleep. I know that losing weight can be a challenge for a lot of you, but it’s something that has to be done. You have to remember the benefit that you’re getting from this is improved health and not experiencing heavy snoring. Not to mention the fact that you’re going to feel better about yourself and have more confidence.
Alcohol is another one because I know many people like to have a few beers after a day of work. This leads to snoring because it causes your throat muscles to relax. The relaxing causes the tissue in the throat area to sag more, which means it is going to get right in the airway. This leads to a lot of vibration.
All in all, you should hopefully be able to identify the reason you or a loved one has heavy snoring. Remember that the number one reason that a person ends up with this issue is typically the position of their jaw. I listed how you could fix that particular issue, so definitely give that a try if you’re not really sure why the problem exists.
