Thus the study suggests that medical marijuana patients can avoid the respiratory hazards of smoking by using a vaporizer. However previous studies have found that herbal vaporizers can reduce harmful toxins in cannabis smoke. This is the first study to analyze the gas phase of the vapor for a wide range of toxins. Another study had found that a weed vaporizer completely eliminated three specific toxins namely naphthalene, benzene and toluene in the solid phase of the vapor. Another study conducted for testing the marijuana vaporizer reveals that when a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GCMS) is used to examine the gas components of the vapor, it shows that the Volcano vaporizer is remarkably clean which consists of ninety five percent of THC with traces of cannabiniod (CBN) and another cannabinoid. Rest of five percent consists of small amounts of three other components that is one suspected cannabinoid relative, one suspected PAH, and caryophyllene, fragrant oil in cannabis and other plants. Where as over hundred and eleven different components appeared in the gas of the combusted smoke, including a half dozen known PAHs. The non cannabinoids accounted for as much as eighty eight percent of the total gas content of the smoke.
