Likewise, volatile Forex market needs to be analyzed and for analysis it requires indicators and these are refer to as volatility indicators.
These indicators signals the size and the extent of price actions and it’s influence on the Forex trade. In every market, there are periods of both high and low volatility. These periods form a wave pattern that comes just one by one that is low volatility is replaced by the high volatility and so on.
These volatility indicators measure the strength of price actions that gives an edge to look into the trading activity. The low volatility extent indicate that the market is lacking price actions and interests, but this also indicates that the market is taking rest and preparing itself for its next move in the market.
These periods are used to trade during breakouts. For instance, sometimes the Bollinger Bands indicates tight trading schedule that means Forex traders expect an unstable breakout outside the band limits.
Thumb rule of trading: A change in Forex volatility is directly proportional to changes in the prices. The thing to keep in mind about the trading volatility is that the low volatility can stay for a longer duration of time whereas the high volatility vanishes soon.
The fundamental Forex volatility indicators consist of Average true Range, Bollinger Band Width and the Chaikin volatility.
There are two methods of interpreting the extent of market inconsistency. The first way says that the increasing variation follows the peak point of the market and the decreasing variation follows the low trades.
The Chaikin method suggests that if the volatility in the market stays for long period then it represents a close trend like the bullish market trend. The increase in volatility indicator for a short interval represents that the bottom of the trade is closed like a disturbed selling-off currency.
