Those marvelous perfume scents that are perfect for young teenager might not be approved by the Department of Homeland Security. Perfumes contain alcohol and are considered flammable aboard aircraft so shoppers have to take this information into consideration when they are doing their Christmas shopping for family members living overseas.

Gift baskets with canned cheese or whipped cream that is packaged under pressured air might also get denied at the point of entry into a foreign country. These are common gifts for many people around Christmas time but are considered missile hazards aboard aircraft because they have a tendency to explode in the baggage handling area. No traveler wants to deal with squeeze cheese on their clothing and luggage at Christmas time or have to throw away a gift basket at the gate.

Before shopping for Christmas items for families overseas it might be best for Christmas shoppers to carefully consider the benefits of buying a gift card at a retailer located overseas just so that they can make sure that their Christmas joy will not be delayed. This will keep the Christmas season merry for everyone involved and make sure that it is celebrated without any restrictions being attached to it.
