There are many different ways you can go about getting an education to be proud of while being cost efficient at the same time. Many universities offering teaching fellowships in their education programs so that people who would otherwise not be able to afford a quality education to be able to gain a reputable education. A teaching fellowship is a way for those studying to be a teacher to get a hands on experience. Whether this means working in the classroom, in administration, or by tutoring students, a teaching fellowship is a great way for a student to get a real close look and experience at what it would be like to be a teacher.

There are so many different reasons to apply for a teaching fellowship, but one of the major reasons is that they are paid. You could be going to school, or currently in a different profession but a teaching fellowship can offer you an additional source of income. Of course it is going to take up at least as much time as a part time job, however it will truly allow you to prove yourself in the profession. Many of these teaching fellowships are given to those who don’t have some of the opportunities to gain a quality education as many other students. They are given to those people who show tremendous promise in the education field and are given the opportunity of a lifetime to prove that this is exactly what they want to do with the rest of their lives. There are so many different professions out there, however it takes a certain individual to be a teacher. There is that passion, that drive, and that love for teaching that is not inherent in every single individual.

To be eligible for a teaching fellowship you have to either be studying, planning on studying, or are perusing either an undergraduate or graduate degree in teaching or education. Depending on the state, university, college, or school districts there are going to be different pay rates and stipends. Typically teaching fellowships are paid as they take up at least the time of a part time job. The advantages of being chosen for a teaching fellowship are tremendous as you will be able to get a foot in the door in the education field even if you are currently in a different profession. You will truly be able to experience what a teacher does on a daily basis and you will be able to determine if the education field is what you want to pursue for the rest of your life. If you are lucky enough to be chosen for a teaching fellowship, you should take advantage of the opportunity and truly immerse yourself in the education culture. No matter what you end up choosing, a teaching fellowship will be a great experience no matter what the outcome is.
